When should I order my invitations?
Spring is in the air in Central New York and Creative Assistant Weddings is on the move. That is… we’re going from one bride/groom’s home to another, loaning out our invitation albums. You see, since word got out about our “Wedding Invitation Albums To-Go”, we’ve been helping newly engaged couples get one of the biggest parts of their wedding plans taken care of. Invitations are a huge part of your planning, but one of the most time consuming. Appointment/drop off dates are starting to fill up. If you’d like to peruse our albums with family and friends, on your own time, in your own home for a few days, we suggest you schedule an appointment soon.
So, when exactly “should” you order? Well, let’s go backwards on a timeline. Six to eight weeks before your wedding, is when the invitations should be mailed out. Then give yourself at least a month or two to view, choose, order, check proofs, have printed and shipped. Actually, anywhere from three to six months is a good rule of thumb. The sooner, the better.
Remember, besides your invitations, we’ve got plenty of ideas for decorating, favors, unity candles and attendant gifts. There’s a special running on free printed napkins. Interested? Shoot us an email and we’ll fill you in.
Save-the-date announcements are a hot item currently. Its a WIN-WIN for couples AND their guests. It saves the bride some stress and should result in better attendance on that special day. Your guests win too by saving in flights, hotels, etc. by booking well in advance. Many couples order Save-the-date items twelve months in advance.
